I think emulating Chris Robinson's (of the Black Crowes) vocal & movement idioms allowed Courtney a channel to move her talent through. I think (in her mind) she BECAME him. You couldn't do that without talent, though, & becoming someone else would allow her to harness her shyness. I don't think the shyness is a facade. Look how shy Jonathan was then contrast it with his full-throated vocal. MANY times, performers are very introverted & timid off the stage ("in real life"), then somehow morph into warriors onstage.

Jonathan had me awestruck from the start, even before he started singing. His talent shines out from him in every way. He sings from his heart and Charlotte does too, so if they stay a duo, then someone should be signing them both up for deals NOW, as people like this need to be seen and heard the world over. All of these amazing people left the audience wrong-footed after they (the audience and even the judges) pre-judged them just because they appeared shy and retiring at first.

This BGT audition is from 2012. At the end of the season, Simon signed them to his SYCO record label for 1M British Pounds. They did 2 albums and tour together. Then SONY offered them each a Solo Contract. Charlotte's (Jaconelli) album was released first. After, She Decided to Return to Music Arts School and Graduate. She now has a successful career in Musical Theatre, which was always her dream and has performed in London's West End! Both are doing what they love. When Jonathan Antoine was 19, Placido Domingo requested him to be his Special Guest for the itunes Global Music Festival. Jonathan has gone on to have a very successful career. He sings Beautifully in any genre and in 3 languages; English, Italian, and German. His Sold Out concerts in 2019 Toronto were filmed for American PBS TV. His music videos of "Amazing Grace/Grazia" and "These Are the Special Times/Momenti Splendidi"(A Best Music Video Award winner) also "Io Si/Seen" per Grammy award winning composer Diane Warren's request! Are all Beautiful to Watch and Listen to. "Nessun Dorma-Home Performance" was filmed at 2:00 a.m. after a Global chat with Fans. One of many Gifts during Lock Down. Enjoy.
