Sad truth but many records pass on talent like this now for pop singers in country music cause it sells more records and gets more streams

I do not think he is ready vocally - He is going to get a big shock in LA when he hears the other country singers - personally I would have recommended getting a coach and then playing at events etc. and then returning to Idol. I hope he does not get crushed by the experience.

I think his guitar is out of tune, and if I can hear it I guarantee the judges can hear it, I'm surprised Luke didn't run up there and tune it for him like he did that other guy

I wouldn't say it sounds terrible, just overpowering. You hear more of the guitar than him singing. That's probably why Luke Bryan said "sing the chorus without the guitar"

The guitar in this video was bad and the guitar in the video where Luke gave him boots was really bad. I’m glad they stop him and give his voice a chance. Guitar needs to go in the fireplace.
That muddy, dirty poor guitar playing ruins the performance. I think it’s partly the guitar. Just doesn’t sound good.
