On the Grand Ole Opry she said they were all crying before & during their performance, so they owed the world a better performance.

These ladies are the real deal. They came into this competition with their own material and ready to rock out the stage. I love love love Chapel Hart!

Simon even said the girls were off key and so did Howie but Simon said let's just forget about that but you can't forget about that because this is a singing competition and they sucked really bad in this song. @@Diana-wg1tm It is not “a singing contest,” it is a talent competition, and these women write beautiful songs and they are great singers. They gave an emotional, heartfelt performance tonight that resonated with the audience. No, the vocals were not perfect. But it was an overall great performance. Guess what, I didn’t even vote for them to win tonight, but that’s not the point. The point is, Howie, they were delivering a patriotic performance on 9/11, they’ve been excellent throughout, the whole was greater than the sum of its parts. He read the moment wrong and soured it. Simon was spot on, by acknowledging it without taking away from the overall heartfelt, creative, beautiful performance. And by the way? It literally is a popularity contest: you vote for who you want to win, based on your own subjective, personal preference! LOL.

@@Diana-wg1tm because Simon recognizes strained vocal cords , knows the risks that Danica took in doing serious damage by performing on already strained cords. They've performed this song many times before , and the key even had to be lowered just so she could just try to sing it the best that she could. That's why they were so emotional, because there was nothing that they could do to sing at their normal level. But kudos for them still braving the stage!

Yes, her vocal cords was 100% strained. You could even see their nervousness when the camera showed them right before it was time for them to perform, which I remembe thinking , " why in the world do they look so nervous, when they've performed in front of some of the greatest like it was nothing?" But as soon as Danica song the first words , I immediately knew why. Unfortunately, that's part of it as a singer. The timing was heart breaking and disappointing , which explains her being so emotional. She probably won't even be able to talk today.

These wonderful ladies should of won hands down! I still say they are the true winners!

The vocals were inconsistent you can tell they were a bit strained but that song and these ladies are just incredible! I look forward to so much more music from them in the future and I can’t wait to see them next Saturday night!

They've clearly overworked their voice. They've been all over recently and it shows. Probably more singing than they do in a short period of time. They still have to perform tho. It is what it is.

@@petertousignant6566 Exactly right! I saw them live and got to meet them since then and they explained the damage to her throat and how her doctor told her she wouldn’t make it through the competition. It looks like all’s well that ends well I’m excited

@@dorothyrandall2173 yes mam, that's exactly the reason she took the lead. I've seen them perform that song several times , and Danica normally sings lead the whole song. She really was risking her vocal cords by singing on already strained cords. But I'm sure they gave her serious doses of steroids, hot tea, etc. The next night . Because she sounded much better . Not 100% , but definitely better.Proud of them though.
