Obviously the singing is awesome, but what is also awesome is the way she creates the illusion that the puppet is alive. We don't see a person with a puppet on the stage; we see two separate beings who behave independently from each other. Even at the song's climax, as Edna is singing her heart out, Darci appears as just an innocent bystander listening and reacting to Edna. The illusion is so powerful that we have to keep reminding ourselves that the puppet isn't actually singing or moving on its own. It's all Darci. What she does takes serious skill, and she does it so gracefully. So gracefully, in fact, that it appears effortless.

I absolutely agree. Darci seems to 'switch' between herself and the puppet and somehow 'is' the puppet once the puppet starts to 'sing' Look at the small but important movements when Edna sings. Draci makes the chin 'vibrate' and this gives the impression as if Edna really sings. Also, right after Darci went back on stage and Ty said that Simon is bright red Darci looks at Edna, Edna 'looks' at Darci and both seem to nod to each other. This takes just a second or two, but IMHO this really shows how Draci interacts with her puppets.

I think someone helps her with the creative content like song selection and such. The heart attack joke was a very grown up one and I got the impression that she didn't understand it so I'm thinking she has help- maybe less so as she gets older.

This is probably my favorite act ever on AGT. I've seen it so many times and it still puts a smile on my face. She is incredibly talented.

Now that is real, old-school talent. She combined comedy with ventriloquism and a great singing voice for a truly outstanding act. All at such a young age. Child prodigies are a rare occurrence but Darci-Lynne is one of them.

I swear she makes these puppets seem like they're real. She's amazing at her talent :)

Simon normally is a vicious and honest character. I never thought I would see him blush, but he did.

Darci Lynne was one of my favorite acts in AGT of all time. I could watch her talent for hours. At 12 years old, to have such a sophisticated sense of humor is incredible! I knew that she would win that season during her first performance with Petulia, the bunny.

She has the looks, intelligence, voice, talent, confidence and everything it takes to be a huge star.

Simon was so embarrassed and I am so glad I was not sitting there in his seat,my face would have looked the same.

This and Oscar's first performance are my two favorites. I just love Simon's reaction to Edna and Heidi teasing toward him, and Oscar and Mel with their funny and adorable interactions. Darci is incredibly talented. She's grown up so much, it's crazy.

She’s insanely talented.

She was so good in moving that old lady doll around that it actually looked like it was alive. The singing was marvelous excellent performance.

This by far is my favorite performance from darci♥️ Grandma Edna makes simon blush like a lobster 👏👏👏👏👏

I watch this act all the time. My favorite act and favorite contestant as well.

Her talent is second to none. Unreal. I will never get tired of watching this act or any of her acts for that matter.

That was simply fantastic. That young lady has her craft down!! Never skipped a beat onstage. Never skipped a beat transitioning off stage, which was incredibly impressive. And continued HER show right to the end. The vocal improv of the song just elevates her level of talent, in my opinion. Now, I'll have to see if Darcy went on and achieved that dream...

Can't help laughing everytime I watch this video. Not only Simon, I myself also turn red watching each movement and listening to each word of Edna. How could Darci give such alive emotional feeling to Edna? How could she choose that perfect song with "I feel like a natural woman", "I feel so alive" (besides her professional singing) Best timing for all, brilliant performance!

A Girl with a talent like Darci comes only once in a lifetime. She is beyond amazing.

What an unsettling comment to make.

After the first two AGT performances we already knew how talented and skilled she's at what she's doing. With this performance, we realize she's a great show woman as well. By walking to and playing with the judges, she turned the table around and became the leader of the entire theater. Of course that was not her idea, but boy did she deliver!

Like..... how can this be ever possible? The singing... just that crazy tremendous pop star voice already makes me go crazy ... BUT she sings with her mouth SHUT(?????) AND acts the character with charming humour AND still maintains her own personality... She would have won the show simply with her voice oh my god I'm in looooove with her

How does Darci sing better than most musical artists, with her mouth closed?!

From the first audition there was no stopping her.

Simon's face during all of her performances is priceless. He used to play the bad guy so well, but that facade cracks wide open every time she steps onto the stage.

Keep on playing all her performances over and over again..and I always smile every time I watch her videos..what's a great talent..😱

I cannot imagine how difficult it must be to sing with your mouth shut!! That is some real talent.

My God! That performance does not, CANNOT grow old in the least bit! Everything about that was superbly done - executed is a better term! Amazing! So creative! Or as Simon called it "BRILLIANT!" Her rendering of Carol King's iconic song: 'You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman' was the best in my opinion as well...given the context; where this 'old gal' wants to express to her heart-throb "Hunka-hunka English man, her 'love' for him. Darci's change in key range was the icing on the top.
