Whether she was tired or nervous, this missed the mark for me. Sometimes on the surface you can appear to be a fantastic singer but when you’re given a very technical song to sing, it can completely expose you. However, I do think Grace has an amazing voice, she’s only 20 so lacks the experience Celine had when she recorded this song, believe me, Grace will only get better and better.

The winners are forced into a contract and have to sing what’s given to them. Also some guy named Trent Harmon won one of those years. Who?

She slayed this, but at 20 years old I would have liked to have seen the judges pick a different Celine Dion song as this one is an older woman association with it. But wow she can sing!

Legally celine's label owns this song, and it's her who took this song on the top of billboard and later Grammys.... Btw, celine legally took rights of the song, but Eric basically stole the song from Bach. Just watch history of this song on youtube

Yeah I agree! This song has been slayed by so many artists so it is very challenging to at least be at those level of great renditions. Good thing is she has a potential and possibly can do a lot better.

That was a perfect song for her and it fits her so perfectly and she killed that wow! Chills. Best performance of the night along with her other performances of the night tonight that I've heard. She has the most marketable voice I've ever heard from this season. I will be replaying this a billion times like I did with every songs she did. They really set her up to win but ended up in third. You could tell the judges wanted her to win. She's at least free to do whatever she wants while Chayce is stuck with the contract that does nothing with the winners.

Grace is too fat. American Idol is, or at least should be about the total package. Talent and looks. Both Grace and the black guy were too fat.

I have never been so emotionally and personally attached to Any music contest like this finale. I am black( from Africa) who had white heavy blonde gf( passed away 2 months ago) and I have lived in Apple Valley area( Victorville) and I have very strong connection and memories there. That’s not entirely true, that is something that can give the song more dynamic, but using different types of speeds of vibratos does not strictly make something better. A lot of the most successful singers in world are known for having their unique vibrato that doesn’t change. It depends on the listener’s opinion I guess:)

I've been played drums for 50 years. A disappointment with contemporary music is the lost art of tempo fluctuations - where there would be a rise and fall in the totality of the music for more expression including singing, vibrato and anything else. Comparing a live performance like this from a promising 20 year-old to professional recordings by experienced artists where there would have been a lot of takes and production is unrealistic.

she should have sing a song like Listen by Beyonce having a big voice is one but it is how you use it that counts especially for moments like this

Regardless of Simon Cowell's potential comments, or how old the song is, listen to the voice-it's the indication of talent!
