Lionel went off-script bruh, telling a Nickelodeon star he has to drop the ego.

I love what Lionel did. At first I was like damn bit harsh. But then when it turned around and I realised, I thought that was so brave and smart. I think more people like this guy need that lesson. This guy really isn’t that egotistical and isn’t that bad, but imagine all the bullies and ‘popular’ kids from school if someone did that to them. It would maybe really give people the reality check they need. Love it.

This is what I admire about Katy Perry. She puts people straight, she's honest and truthful towards people and she's very very straightforward with people. When I first heard Lionel Richie say "I don't like you", I thought it was harsh at first, but, I could understand what he meant. That contestant had a great voice, great talent, but too much ego and too much ego can hold you back.

Lionel shocked Katy for a minute. Lol! She didn’t know what to do haha

I love these three judges. They’re so honest yet remains adorable and kind. ❤️❤️❤️

What a voice! That was so mesmerizing! I didn't see that he's arrogant or has some ego's problems,.in contrary he tried to reply politely and sincerely although they try to humiliate many times in this audition! Indeed, all the judges were so overacted and resentful toward him and unfortunately unprofessional, he definitely has his own issues to leave the competition... The judges got their ego hurt when he backed out of the competition last time and kept nagging him about it during this audition. The man had personal family problems cut him some slack. People go through hard times, it happens. He wasn't even arrogant or condescending.

OK, I saw this guy for exactly 1 minute and six seconds. He walked out he was totally respectful and polite. I saw nothing but a nice guy and then he sat down and sang and played. So whatever trips they went on about his big ego was about something I never saw. Are they talking about the fact that he was on Nickelodeon? Was he egocentric last time he tried out? Because whatever it was, this audience member didn’t see it on 1:06. I personally found it completely offensive that they tried to crush him like that. It was uncalled for, disrespectful, and rude. Shame on them, especially Lionel, who is normally so awesome with contestants. Maybe this young man deserved it, maybe he didn’t. But whatever he did, I was never shown it.

Well Katy and Lionel went out of line there. He is transparent and you can see the guy is not arrogant or narcissistic, he told them he had personal problems. We are all people and we can deal with some tough stuff at a times, they should’ve cut him some slack there, they’re so disrespectful and unprofessional, Jesus.

He doesn't have an ego at all. He has confidence and a charm . I don't get it were taught to love ourselves and always hype ourselves up .The minute someone does that it's considered vein, selfish, an ego trip and all sorts He is great at what he does and knows his worth.
