ABOUT AMERICAN IDOL
AMERICAN IDOL, the iconic series that revolutionized the television landscape by pioneering the music competition genre, returned to the airwaves in February 2021 for its forth season at its new home on ABC. The nationwide search for the next superstar kicked off in August 2019, as the virtual Idol Bus traveled from Portland, Oregon, to Orlando, Florida, in its pursuit for talent, covering many cities across the country. Auditioning was made easier than ever as hopefuls also had the opportunity to submit audition videos online, as well as via select social media platforms using an official tag, #TheNextIdol, cultivating over 300,000 posts. Also, for the first time in “American Idol” history, hopefuls had the opportunity to audition through a livestream platform. Helping to determine who America will ultimately vote for to become the next singing sensation, are music industry forces and superstar judges, Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Emmy® Award-winning host and producer Ryan Seacrest will return as host of the beloved series.

This man should be an artist with an album. This song is the most moving song this century. Iconic
This song is amazing. I had tears in my eyes and chill bumps all over!! I would love to hear the others songs he has written!
Am watching American idol just to follow up on your songs.👑👑
This show was randomly playing on my Hulu and I heard this…stopped, listening and cried. Beautiful and yes I feel your heart you shared with the world.
What a song!! So powerful!!
Every child feels this today 🙏
Touched my heart so deeply, every single word. Thank you for sharing your soul with us, Taylor
Tears flooded down my cheeks the minute he said Ahmed Arbrey's name. Powerful! Bravo, Taylor Fagins...and THANK YOU!

Best song in a long time. Thank you
He sang it like he meant every word and I felt that storytelling vibe in him and his voice! One of the best of the night!
Wow 😭. I’m captivated by every word.
He is has a purpose. 😊
Omg I love him now. Come to my house and play me this song!!
From 3:07 on, full blown tears. Such a powerful, sadly true song.
I cried hard at this! And this is unfortunatly the truth and I wish it wasn't. 😭😭😭
That hits the heart. And that hurts because it's so true a lot of people need to listen to this and realize how the African-American culture feels.....Let's make a difference in this world put the guns down and protect no matter what the color.,.,

I mean to be honest we already do there’s really no culturally developed racism in America anymore it’s all opinionated racism which will always exists in all races so when people say that African Americans have it rough in America it’s just not true the plain truth is poor people have it rough in America and the world so quit aligning with this facade that color matters when it’s really what you wear and how much money you have that matters
I am a dancer and I would love the permission to dance this song one day!
Very powerful!!
Everyone needs to hear this song the lyrics are spot on what’s happening now.

I am white. And thankfully to my parents I never realized there was anything different about one race to the next. But I live in a predominantly white community/state and see the hate and disrespect (racism) towards others everyday. It sickens me to see that people will never change how they see others. All I can do is teach my children about what is right and to not follow the judgement that is all around you. Beautiful song 🙏🏻❤️
Very touching...
What a heart wrenching song, I cried from the first 5 words. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

One of a kind voice. Honored to have sung with you in show choir for a year back at UCI!
Such an unbelievable Voice, Soul & Song! : , ( But, it's unfortunate that this Beautiful Song even exists!!! 😭
I'm glad he addressed the fear Black children live with. US students are already scared enough at school, but the TERROR my Black students feel for their lives whenever they walk down the street has had me in tears too many times to count.
This is absolutely beautiful ❤️
A true artist. Who can turn life into a beauitful song. Bravo!
