I’m feeling that all comes from her family raise her with the older beliefs of when asked on a date the other is to pay. Also after first date wait for them to call you first. I get I was raised that way too. It just shows you the era she was raised. With morals and respect! The world is just evolving, and many people are being treated differently. Everyone just wants to be excepted like anyone else. So she stands up for human rights. I don’t think that’s a bad thing.

I absolutely loved her on AGT and thought she would be a great role model to the children of this generation. She's somebody that stands on her own two feet and does what she says. She's not afraid of criticism or in her case shave off her hair. If Demi Moore can do it in GI Jane why can't the new coming of Grace do it to make a statement. There's nothing wrong with a young woman to show her pride regardless of where they stand

The beauty of the initial opportunity that Grace experienced on America's Got Talent 2016, was the reason I watch the show. The show gives unknown individuals the chance to express their talents and receive a standing screaming ovation and begin growth path of believing in oneself and taking that out for a ride. I love that Grace has also given to such amazing causes and continues to fully express herself in our world so influenced by domination, manipulation and control she is very connected to grace... no pun intended.

Who pays for dates is basically determined by social convention and social expectations just like all “rules” about dating and about gender roles in general. Any tension or uncertainty in such matters is merely indicative of cultural norms being in a state of flux or transition. To think that one social convention is somehow objectively superior than all others is to lose track of what a cultural norm is and to disregard the risks inherent in monoculturalism.

@@Erfedwe I was a little more suspicious about the cancellation. As I recall it roughly coincided with the writers strike, and given that Julia Hart is both a writer and producer of Stargirl 1 & 2, and David Horowitz is a producer, I felt that Disney may have viewed the fact that both of them walked out during the strike as a betrayal. Kind of a "which side are you on" thing that happens when you straddle the management/worker line in any labor dispute. It seemed punitive to me, but that's just me.

She is a wonderful soul and a sincere talent. She is the best when she is original and herself as she is.. She is a real artist and her personality is special and unique.. The problem is that those who offer her something else influence that she does not believe that people recognize her and that what she working with love can make her happy... Those who shaped Katy Parry and some others are now trying to manage her. She is destroyed by the loss of herself, and that is the goal of those people who want to take her over and shape her into a star... Honest souls cannot bear that.

Should be interesting to see people's reaction to her being in the arms of Adam Driver in Megalopolis, a most adult role in which Grace's acting skills will be showcased as well as her singing, would not be surprised if songs performed are Grace originals. Francis Ford Coppola wouldn't have chosen Grace for this role unless he saw her acting skills were above average. He had the choice of every young woman actress in Hollywood, yet he choose Grace over all the others who wanted the role. In any case suspect most people will see Grace as the adult young woman she is, instead of the shy 12 year old school girl on AGT after Megalopolis releases.

I was thinking about that. It seems to me every person she has worked with has some sort of contact with her that we see after the event even followed on Instagram. @@Calers-gu1ib If you follow the actors, non-seem to be in contact with each other in public or on social media. No gossip whatsoever in the movie websites. Suspect that there are non-disclosure contracts everyone signed. Francis Ford Coppola follows Grace on Instagram. Coppola hasn't even released info on what roles which actors are playing, based on old decades old, leaked scripts have assumed that Adam Driver is the lead male actor, and Grace is a singer named Vesta. Think that once actors strike ends we will begin to see more PR for movie, perhaps release officially the roles of each major character. Another thing not made public is the composer for the movie sound tract, a major movie will need a theme song as well as music played throughout the movie. We know that the songs for the pop star character have been completed, but no idea who wrote them. Suspect and hope they are Grace originals.

In all of Grace's interviews she was anything but shy , she was more confident in her other 3 performances yet humble and very quirky in all her interviews , her SM(online) personality during AGT was also very confident and quirky . AGT people ran wild with the fantasy of their first impression .

@@chmtopforever2177 Yeah I believe they are referring to the 4 minutes. Everyone is a star in their basement but as soon as they are in front of a crowd the ones who really believe in themselves still perform shyly only a few are successful when over confident. Success brings out the real personality for everyone to see. Roberta Battaglia was so good trying to look overwhelmed that she should have done a few movies by now. Grace's performance videos had millions of views not her interview videos. Us humble devotees saw them all. Also Grace was never instructed how to say a lot without really saying anything, she was too honest in her interviews. Not into Justin Bieber and with Taylor and Katy in the midst of a squabble Grace said for the world to see she was not into Taylor and loved Katy. I believe that is why Grace has never been invited with Selina to Taylor's house.

I don't think that the problem is about a woman paying or not paying the dinner, is a problem of a person who doesn't want to pay a dinner. I mean that it is not a problem about feminism, men or women, it's a problem with the personality but people started to pointing the gender in these situations. If I'm in a date and i don't want to pay a thing, well that means that I'm an ashole and that's it. It doesn't matter if my date is a man or a woman, it doesn't even matter if im a feminist or not. (Sorry if there is something wrong in my writting, I'm still learning English). And please don't get mad cause i didn't say it in an angry way. And of course i know that some people do these kind of things (not paying dinner or whatever) with bad intentions. I'm not defending her or anything, I don't know her as a person and i don't think the same as her.

So do you get a lot of responses from women like "no, I'm a little short on cash right now" when you ask them out on a date? I thought her answer meant she wasn't looking for a relationship or wasn't desperate at this time. Then again young millionaires forget they may have a different perspective than the average young woman. My take on her is if Grace lived in LA she'd be dating top young actors, or he'd have to be drop dead gorgeous for her to consider some random guy who asked her out.

Don't be ridiculous. The artists that "sell their souls" (compromise their artistic and personal values for fame and money) are the ones that generally make it big. Grace didn't compromise on anything. I also have no idea why you're suggesting she went and changed her last name. Her father is literally Dutch, which is where the name VanderWaal comes from.

@@Jeff_674 Most of the “winners” of these “competitions” end up being massive flops that no one could care less about. Simon Cowell is part of machine that cripples real artists. @@aavv4554 your comments are completely unhinged, and mostly false. Buying into conspiracy theories and falling for logical fallacies is not a good look! People don't really sell their soul. If you meant that literally, then please seek help. If it was figurative, then choose better words! Simon is considered to be a top tier talent scout and has had a lot of success with artist's he has discovered and signed. Btw, Simon sold off his record label years ago. It is mostly irrelevant, since he only ever signed a very small number of people from the show. These shows are not scripted. Firstly, it is illegal to rig this type of competition show, and nobody is going to risk a billion-dollar empire on doing so. Second, you are giving the judges way too much credit on their acting abilities. The closest thing you can say is "scripted" is that the producers choose which contestants to spotlight, and the judges can hype certain contestants over others. The performances, and the fan votes are legit. And yes, many contestants and winners disappear, but this is true for many people trying to break into music. AGT probably has a slightly higher success rate due to the massive audience tuning in, but that is no guarantee of success. Frankly, it would be weird if all the winners suddenly became superstars! At the end of the day, this is a TV show, and the only way to make money is to get ratings, and to put an interesting product out there. There are no objective ways to measure talent, and the judging is done on feeling and emotion more than anything scientific.

@@Erfedwe Okay what about former contestants coming out to expose the mistreatment and abuse caused by Simon Cowell and his immoral shows. They exploit the general public with falsehoods and lies. I’m sure the name Zoe Alexander rings a bell, many people like her were set up to fail and make a fool of themselves on national tv. Buts what even more scary than this is the thought that someone is an actual fan of Simon Cowell. That is terrifying.
