Penelope was AWESOME! She actually has a lovely tone to her Alto voice. Dawn's audition cracks me up EVERY TIME. When Louis & Sharon both start I can't keep a straight face.

I love that Penelope just laughed along and had fun and didn't take offense. We should all have this level of self confidence. It's not ego, it's just letting go and living in the moment. Hilarious and refreshing!

Sometimes people cannot help how they sound and I had a teacher who was like that but her voice was because she was hit by a car. Fortunately her unborn baby survived. It is not normally a something someone does by choice. If that is the case for her then my apologies but does not mean I find that I like that kind of voice.

These people are either plants or crackpots who show up to the auditions who are deliberately put in front of the judges to create content like this video. There's too much money behind a production like this to waste time letting these people get in front of these judges on their own- they'd be weeded out before meeting the judges. This is all planned by producers. But I do believe the judges never know when one of these folks will be added to the mix so their reactions are real.
