The story of Night Birde breaks my heart. Her no good husband divorced her in 2019 when the Dr said she only had 3-6 months to live. Between the divorce & cancer, she couldn’t handle it and had a breakdown. The Dr was wrong & she fought her way back for 3 more yrs. She encouraged others & became famous before she passed. RIP Night Birde you were & are an inspiration. Such a beautiful soul. RIP

I'm speechless...

Having stage 4 bone cancer (I was told in September 2020 that I had a 2% chance of making it to my 50th birthday), I immediately connected to Nightbirde. Not only did I think she was a beautiful young lady, but a beautiful soul. When I heard she decided to drop out of the competition to focus on her health, I cried HARD and then when I heard that she passed away in February, I cried again. But her faith and her spirit will live on forever. I didn't know that her husband of 5 years divorced her after her diagnosis and I pray he has lived to regret that decision and ask for forgiveness. By the way, 18 days ago, I celebrated my 51st birthday. So as Nightbirde said "A 2% chance is better than a 0% chance!"

Absolutely. I cannot watch her appearances on AGT without crying. And just like the crowd and all the judges, I feel touched so deep within my soul. I also get completely silent, captivated by her pure soul. I know she has a very special place in Heaven. One must be absolutely heartless not to be touched by her halo. And all these people are beautiful. As people say, our Creator plucks His most beautiful flowers first. But Nightbirde, she just inspires so many people on so many levels with her humble words of perseverance. She is that person who wins the race of life and then turns around to carry her fellow fighters over the finish line. One in a million. No money is worth who she was/is. That is why in my eyes she will always be the overall winner of AGT...

I just have to say, what a beautiful and tasteful way to remember these folks. It’s as if they all got their own little memorial and they deserve that and so much more.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 on my 49th birthday. My husband left me in the thick of my battle in 2018. There has been nothing about the last five years that’s been ok. I saw her addition when it aired and I cried for hours the most cleansing cry of my life. It was the first time in five years I had hope and peace and forgiveness in my heart. She passed away on my birthday this year. As my battle with cancer comes to its end I play her videos and song everyday and pray I can show half as much dignity and grace. I now listen in the dark for the birds to sing.

I’m so glad she helped you heal. Are you in remission? My Aunt had breast cancer. She fought for 5-7 years. She saw her daughter get married and held her first grandson. She also got remarried to a wonderful man Unfortunately we lost her in 2011.

Nightbirde is honestly one of the most inspiring people I've seen on this show. Her spirit, her optimist, her trust in humanity is something astonishing. She truly is an angel sent to earth to teach us a lesson on determination, compassion, and kindness. RIP beautiful.

I was not prepared for Nightbirde's performance to absolutely crush me. From her song, to simon giving her the golden buzzer, to her quote at the end. I was in literal tears. I also remember when Neal Boyd ran for office in missouri. I had no clue he was on AGT or had such an amazing voice.

They were all so special......but " nightbird hit me the hardest. " She knew what was coming , and she met her future with such courage and spirit and grace. She truly shone like a candle in the darkness.

Nightbirde was so inspirational with such a positive outlook admist a dire situation and lived what life she had left to the fullest. I truly believe "nightbirde" got her "wings" and she is free of pain from such a horrible disease...now she soars among angels!

Her husband quite clearly didn't love her as he knew she only had a few months left and still have her extra pain and stress just because she had cancer but at least we all know she can now rest peacefully in heaven now 🕊️

Nightbirde was a wake-up call to everyone that came across the footage of her audition, be it live in that audience, on television, or online several weeks after the fact (as I did). She was so articulate and passed along not only a contagious positivity, but even moreso a wisdom way beyond her years in that song and her inspirational words. It left everyone breathless. Especially in our divisive times, it's almost impossible that one figure becomes almost universally beloved, but Nightbirde accomplished that in just five minutes. She'd better have been given her pair of wings when she arrived up there.

Poor Skilyr...i remember when she first auditioned, so beautiful, i could watch her audition 1000 times, just loved her...its crazy how fast our lives can spiral out of control, i know first hand... especially those who were so full of promise...hope we all continue to grow and be there for the people who you know need it the most, in their darkest hours where people avoid them, until its too late.

Brandon's death is so painful. May he rest in peace and may God continue to console his family and all the families of the departed on AGT.

My heart goes out to Skilyr Hicks’ mom. To lose a husband and a child. Prayers for healing and a peace that surpasses understanding.

I saw Nightbird for the first time shortly after one of the best friends I’ve ever had passed away from breast cancer, she was only 30 and we had served in Iraq together. Nightbird sent such a beautiful message that was on par with everything she was about. I wasn’t and have not been the best person and I was the rebellious one to her complete and utter positive personality. Nightbird and her song hit me right in the feels. Their personalities were very similar. I still have Nightbird’s song on every playlist I have for training (not the army anymore I’m a dog musher and spend a lot of time on the trail which is my own therapy). RIP NIGHTBIRD RIP NATALIE

I'm old enough to be Nightbirde's grandmother but SHE is my mentor. She is such a beautiful soul, such a mature outlook on life. Getting up every morning knowing it might be her last day, but putting on that incredible smile and truly enjoying every second that clicked by on the clock. Her song was simple and yet SO profound. She is the only person I've ever seen for only 5 minutes in my life but she stands out and shines brighter than anyone I've ever known. @@callacreek6711 I’m pretty sure it would’ve been the cancer that did the killing. The treatments make someone sick because they are very aggressive at targeting cancer cells, but also can damage healthy cells, therefore the person gets sick from the treatment. Once they get to a certain point in the treatment however, the treatment itself becomes too much for the body to handle, this still doesn’t mean that it’s the treatment that kills them! The CANCER is the ultimate killer in the end because it makes the body too weak to handle the treatment any longer! Do some research before spouting off bullshit about $700,000 being wasted on trying to save someone’s life! Because I can guarantee you’d do the same thing if you were trying to keep your child or yourself alive!

This is beautiful. I'll never forget the Doctor and most of all Nightbird. Her words are impactful, important, heartfelt. She made the world look at it self with different eyes.

May she rest in peace, but no she was not an angel as angels are another creation and not humans. We can honor people without putting another creation on them.

Skilyr’s story really broke my heart, knowing that her own father had passed away, and it shattered her life into so many pieces. Her being arrested at that young age for such brutal reports is something no child should have to deal with. Although I do know it was the consequences of her actions, it doesn’t change the fact that she was broken, and nothing could fix it.

She looked so depressed... her eyes didn't have joy in them throughout her performance. The only thing that an entire crowd of cheering people and a stand of supporting judges was able to get her to do was a hesitant smile. It just broke my heart to see her so heartbroken.

Sometimes, God puts these Angels on earth for a purpose. Jane was a true blue family member, and friend. She fought hard, because she truly loved others in her life, wherever she went. A bright life to others. She left a great message for all. Love others, be happy, and try to make others happy. As a counselor told me when I went through a bad sad spell. "I could tell, you'd get teary...it's the ones who smile the brightest, that are breaking inside." So true, at that time, and there were tears, just below the surface. Those days are gone, thank Michael, my counselor angel, and Jesus, who helped me hang in there. Like I always say, There is always a way...NEVER give up!

@Nancy Samuelson the friend fell asleep at the wheel after working along shift. I don't think it was intentional. There was another person in the backseat. After the crash the driver pulled both people out of the car. He is truly remorseful. His career in medicine now is to do everything to honor Rogers. He will have to live the rest of his life with what happened to Rodgers.

The story of night bride breaks me every time. It’s weird of me to say this but even if she is gone, she is gone for good she just didn’t deserve all of this, all this pain in her life it was an end to all the suffering!! She had an angel voice you will be always be remembered girl.

I love it when Nightbirde came on stage and she sang so deeply and so beautifully, I loved it how everyone just stayed silent when she sang and it took a few seconds for them to clap when she was done. Even Simon had gotten a few tears! Rest in Peace Nightbirde.❤️🙏

I can’t imagine leaving someone when they need you the most. Marriage is for sickness and health, yet she got sick and he left. That’s not ok. My boyfriend also had cancer and I stuck by him every step of the way. He wasn’t as bad as she is and I’m not belittling her battle in anyway, I just can’t imagine leaving someone in that situation. My boyfriend luckily beat his cancer and the past 3 years his scans have been cancer free I wish the same was true for Nightbirde. She was a lovely woman. Her husband should be ashamed for the rest of his life.

Actually it’s very common statistically that a husband leaves his wife if she has cancer. It’s more common that the husband leaves the wife than the wife leaving the husband after the diagnosis.

My husband did the same when I was actually in the hospital and told to make my final arrangements. He let me know by sending me a text. I was saved by a Dr who came in and said I can do surgery that will kill you or save you. I had nothing to lose and I’m still here. I wish that had been the outcome for these beautiful souls.

Everytime I see Skilyr Hicks's audition, I tear up. After hearing that she got arrested and wet missing just hits me hard. I've actually seen her audition on TV. She has an amazing guitar talent and she will always be remembered. RIP Skilyr Hicks

It's simply heartbreaking to see so many young talents who had to leave us so early!!! Even if it is only a small consolation for their friends and survivors, they can see their loved ones again while they are doing something wonderful, namely singing and this passion makes them live high once again!!!! Rest in peace!!!! ❤

Neal was a family friend for as long as I can remember. And it breaks my heart every time I see him! He was the most amazing person, loved his momma and family unconditionally and was the sweetest person you'd ever meet! We all loved him so much!

I remember Nightbride's story and song. She came across as being so at peace with her cancer, as it had essentially metastasized throughout her body at the time of her performance and she sang about it being okay. Watching her perform her song still brings me to tears. She was truly s beautiful soul and now she will meet with Simon again. My condolences to Simon's family on his tragic and untimely death. 😥

Nightbirdie story and battle with cancer is heart wrenching. Her song - "It's Okay" is quite inspiration for everyone out there battling with one sickness or the other. So sad she didn't pull thru cancer. She is such a sweet soul with a beautiful voice. RIP to her and many others that passed on. They set their feet in the hallway for Musical Legends.

Oh, my God, I started crying. When she said she got Cancer and the song made me cry, I couldn't stop crying. 🙏❤😭😭

Skilyr Hicks has a very innocent face and i didn't think that she would be an addict or something but still rest in peace.😢

Nightbirde has been such an overwhelming inspiration for me. I was diagnosed with stage three coleo-rectal cancer in January of this year. It's been a long uphill battle, but I'll beat this. Jane, you are my hero, my inspiration, and I will always remember you with love.
