She comes off to me as someone struggling with BPD. Super intense back and forth, hot and cold relationships. Very eccentric, dramatic and neurotic. Unstable self-image, etc etc

She revolved her ex-boyfriend throughout the whole competition. It's like she doesn't know herself without him. It's just sad. I hope she finds her peace within herself

it's sad because I really love her voice. it's a gorgeous voice. but she has so many internal issues in her soul. last night in my music class they talked about "branding". and all they said was, stick to who you really are. stay true to yourself. and this girl, all she kept thinking about was her ex, and his opinion, and what was he going to think of her. she really should have done this for herself, not for him.

I appreciate you so much. incredibly happy and encouraged to see a grounded, aware but also super kind comment in this shithole of 'oh, she is drama, she is horrible, so annoying' when she is obviously someone with mental health struggle. Of the bat it looks like she might have adhd with a capital H which comes with so many other challenges like rejection sensitivity dysphoria, depression, anxiety, rumination ,low self esteem, trouble staying on task and so much more. People don't choose to have impaired brains, no one chooses to have autism, borderline, bpd and more such challenging conditions. Imagine what you find annoying in your 2 minutes of interaction, others have to live and die with that and its heartbreaking. If people can't be of any help then why can they just not be polite. I feel that, like you, judges recognized that and were super sweet to her till the end. You seem like a wonderful person. keep sharing you light.

She does not know how to handle the situation or deal with her emotions. When her boyfriend and his family rejected her, she couldn’t accept it. The same goes with the show! It’s gonna take a while, cause people grow at different pace. She’ll be ready once she matures, cause she still gotta great voice!❤

I royally ruined my Canadian Idol audition audition 14 years ago in front of the camera and the judges, trying to sing a rock song when my voice was clearly suited for country or crooning. The judges told me to never try something like this again. It was a learning experience and a good story to tell my friends

Imagine saying I can get angry and sassy real quick and thinking that’s CUTE?!

Her true colors came out when she got eliminated!! Everything else was just a gimmick and they saw it too.

I have a lot of compassion for Erika. She is really hurting these days, and doesn't know how to deal with all of her feelings. I hope she is able to find a supportive space to heal her wounds. She's got a lot of great qualities to work with, and would benefit from some space to realize what they are, and decide how she can use them, moving forward.

Tbh I'm not surprised. She almost had this breakdown in the auditions when she asked "So is it a no?". I mean her performance wasn't terrible but personality definitely was. She acts all fun and quirky when she's talking and on stage but after she's eliminated she acts like she's too good for the show and starts screaming. Sorry, but I'm actually not because this is how I felt watching the show.

She does have talent and a very good voice. If she would quit focusing on other people (like her ex) and what other people think of her, and would focus solely on her music instead, I believe that she could have an excellent career in music. Her insecurities and worries about other people seem to take her out of the moment when she's trying to sing. Hopefully she can work through the things she's going through and can come back in a year or two, 100% focused on the music and nothing else.

Awww, I feel bad for her because she really had a very nice voice but she just has to regroup, step back, reign in her emotions and keep trying. I think the only thing really holding her back is her inexperience and youth. Tons of young women have a difficult time reigning in their emotions at that age and so I don’t think there’s a second of shame after acknowledging bad behavior. She acted out yes, but there isn’t anything that a therapist, a voice coach and a year can’t take care of. I hope that we can build her up and steer her and coach her in a positive direction because she just needs a little support and guidance and these bad behaviors or attitudes “that ARE unacceptable” will begin to melt away. She’s a young, beautiful (a little rowdie) woman who needs other strong women to come up beside her. She’s learning. She’s human.

poor Erika, too bad she was not able to swallow her pride while on national television. Even from the first audition I was just so sus about her behaviour I had a feeling she wasn’t being very honestly about how her boyfriend broke up with her. I think it was honestly her behaviour towards others she isn’t has bad as most but she knows herself that she doesn’t treat people right.

Her voice has so much potential but she’s self sabotaging. Not sure if it was just an act but she didn’t need to do all that.
