As a Puerto Rican....when I heard her sing Selena in Spanish....WOW. I was so amazed by her versatility. I love her! She is so genuine, and so humble. I am so proud of her. Her performance with her singing in Spanish was perfect. I mean flawless, inspiring, beautiful. And she was wearing a beautiful red lipstick, and beautiful makeup on her face...and she didn’t need that to be perfect. She was perfect just because she is who she is with no apologies. I cried, watching Katy stand up in shock....I was standing in my living room floor yelling, She is singing Selena! Como me duele! Como la flor! Ahhhh, it was the best moment of the show for me. She is the next American Idol! A++++ performance!

I know I have watched this and re-watched it so many times and I wait just for that moment when she smile and does a little chuckle, spins around and then regroup and finishes strong. I KNEW THIS GIRL WOULD WIN IT ALL, LIONELL RICHIE, UNCLE LUKE, AND KATY PERRY WAS SO GOOD FOR HER, SHE DID TRUST THEM AND IT WAS SO CUTE TO SEE SAM LOOKING AND SMILING AT KATY PERRY ON STAGE. I LOVE SAM AND HER WONDERFUL GRANDMOTHER AND HOPE THIS WILL CHANGE THEIR LIVES FOREVER.

As a Hispanic woman who speaks Spanish fluently, and am only one year younger than Selena would’ve been, I can say Just Sam did the song justice. Great Job! P.S. Just Sam, you look beautiful.

Over the last couple of weeks I've seen my community in Southeastern Brazil taking a hard punch with the Covid-19 pandemic, jobs, dreams and lives lost... This little angel brings me joy this dark moment. What a great joy to see her sing, smile and dance. What a classy tribute to Selena. I don't think she knows how good she actually was showcasing her gift and honouring an entire community. What an inspiring human being. God bless you Sam!
