I have a neighbour who was born without a single hand but he plays guitar like a pro, with his legs. I can watch and listen to him playing Smokie songs all days.

He has a really wonderful mother. Thanks to her for what she does.

Same and I will cry, out of the last 5 seasons. He is the most impressive, from not being able to see the keyboard to being able to be infront of all those people. 95% of autistic kids, get really nervous, emotional, etc. They cant handle being around others. He is an inspiration.

He’s showed everyone that being disabled doesn’t necessarily mean you’re unable. No matter what, he’s a winner in my eyes

important to consider that being autistic doesn't necessarily make it harder for him, might be quite the opposite. He definitely won it, I wouldn't say he has the most beautiful voice I've heard, but it's def a top 5 male voice that I've heard.

Life is not only about winning my friend

As a future neurologist I have to say how fascinating Kodi is. I do not know him as a person, unfortunately. But seeing how severely affected he is by autism, it is touching and amazing that he, through music, has found a way to have a common language with everyone, and not only that, he speaks it better than most, and can touch us that way, and show us the person that he is. Autism is a condition that makes socializing and communication difficult, but Kodi has found a channel through those difficulties. It's amazing to watch.

I just want to make sure you know, since you say you’ll be working in the field, that being autistic is hard since most systems aren’t made for us. And it’s not something just something that we have, it’s a huge part of who we are. Autism doesn’t “affect” us, and “severe” or low/high levels of autism aren’t really a thing. Just because other people experience our autism more/less, doesn’t men that we are more/less autistic. Also, I’ve been thinking about going to college to get a degree in psychology or medicine or neurology :) Do you have any info about what jobs are in neurology, what you learn about in college classes, etc.? Thank you! 😊

There’s many other people that have had better voices than this man. Yes he’s talented but people need to realize conditions and their past shouldn’t be counted into their audition. If you only got to listen to people that sing and didn’t get to see them or their past, then people would vote differently.

He is only one of a handful of people alive to be able to play and sing in perfect pitch any song he listens too by memory pretty much 🤷‍♂️ most people that gifted have some sort of autism spectrum due too so much activity in that part of the brain..

the only thing is that the industry already pushes so many people past their limits and takes advantage of them so much so that i'd really hope whoever it is that signs him at least has the basic empathy to take the factors that overwhelm him into account and find a route through which they can work hand in hand with it instead of against it.

My granddaughter is autistic too, I just love her even more, she's bright, funny always something different every day, were so blessed to have them in our lives

Blindness and autism aside, I have not been moved by a performance as powerfully as he moved me in a very, very long time. Beyond comprehension. This guy is a gift to us, I hope we utilize it appropriately. Peace

See this is what I'm talking about! Not everyone has parents like this, that allow you to grow and be and don't look at your lack of the formal mold of a human as a disability. My brother is 41 and developementally disabled and HAD he had parents like this, I'm almost certain he would have played in the NBA if not college ball. He was THAT good! While I was very touched by Kodis performance and him being autistic too. I think the best you can do is support your step daughters and their interests and abilities. Some autistic will never find extreme talent and it’s hard for them as everyone thinks that every autistic person has some type of extreme ability.

Kodi offers us an incredible example of the miraculous and magical nature of music. Although autism may have impeded his ability to express himself through speaking, music frees him to draw upon the deep well of his humanity and beauty and share it with the world. And we are better off for it. Thank you to Kodi, his mom, and everyone else who helped him realize his potential.

@@Ismael-ge6gv Having an autistic child is challenge enough, this boy is also blind. The everyday struggle to try to give him the best and the constant worry about him is a big deal. Is easy to say "lucky" when is not you who need to be aware of someone 24/7.

Man the way his face just lights up with excitement when he is feeling the love from everyone just makes ya smile..

I worked with kids with special needs and every time I see Kodi I makes my heart ❤️ warm with love for him.... he is amazing and I’m so happy his mom saw his talent and not let it go to waste. Thank you Kodi, you are wonderful. I will duty whatever you put out, much love.....

I love when he says to his fans at the end “Thank you for all your support and I love you all!” It’s just so genuine and there’s no second guessing him.

Singing triggers a different part of the brain than speech, which is why there seems to be such a difference in his communication between the two. I’m in awe at his talent.

Just love how his mom is always there for him right before each performance to be his rock and encourage him. A lot of thanks and all the roses to her.

After watching this I have no right to complain about my life. And for clarification I am not insulting anyone or Kodi. I am just saying that we should all be grateful for what we have in life. My cousin is autistic and has mental health issues so I would never insult anyone with a disability. He is happy in life and I am grateful to have a special relationship with him. ✌ to you all

This is how he’s always known life and he’s living it just as we all live ours. It’s disrespectful to say things like this about people with disabilities. I’m not trying to call you out or be rude but it’s something that people say often about those with disabilities and it’s insulting to them.

I love the pep talks his mom gives him! She is blessed to have such a beautiful and talented son. May God bless the entire family.

By far, seeing his 1st performance will be one of the greatest moments I’ve seen on TV. Amazing.

He’s literally built for this. Lucky he has a wonderful mother who fostered his talent. It’s unreal the level of chills it gives me listening to him

2nd time I saw this guy sing and he's even better this time. Awe-inspiring voice and piano. Divine talent.

People have the most sympathy for him cos his disabled. I don't doubt his talent, but They always get the most love cos of their condition so it leaves more of an impact on viewers and they just get more love when reality is he doesn't deserve to win. There is better talents on the show. His got a incredible voice but he shouldn't win.

I can't get over how amazing you are Kodi. My respect also go to your mom. She raised an amazing son May God bless you both.

He has such a way of evoking emotion through his tone and delivery. He so delicately and beautifully guides us through every note in his own way, revealing his true self. How beautiful a soul and a blessing to all. Wouldn’t it be such a shame if he were there but we couldn’t see him? Thank god. Absolutely brilliant.

I've waited month's to see Kodi's next performance and to be honest I'm at a loss for words. I'm truly mindblown. An amazingly beautiful rendition of an iconic American classic. Thank you Kodi, Tina and the Lee fam. for being a huge source of inspiration to millions and millions of people.

im so thankful he won. AGT always lets people win for their story, he won for his talent. and im so happy his mom actually is nice and patient with him. most kids who have disabilities, their parents get so angry and stressed. god bless him and his family.

Conspicuously absent on this clip, but genuinely acknowledged, is the fact that the composer of this song, Paul Simon, considers this as his masterpiece...and rarely does he ever give permission for ANYONE to perform it. Paul simply does NOT want this piece of musical treasure to be exploited and trivialized...as is his right as author and composer. The fact that he gave permission within 30 mins of viewing Cody's performance speaks volumes! Well done, Cody, and thank you, Paul, for making this moment possible! Well done...well done! :-)

I love when Kodi says "YEAAAAAHHHHHH!!!" Him and all of his family are just so amazing and I love how you can tell his mother totally zones the whole audience out and focuses on interacting with just Kodi. So amazing!

Truly inspirational and whether or not he wins the golden buzzer, he's won our hearts. What could be more important!

Kodi is the example to all of us that anyone and everyone can accomplish their goals. As a retired special needs teacher I have been waiting for the world to realize everyone is capable of anything. I believe Kodi was sent by God to open the eyes and hearts of mankind. Fantastic job Kodi. You deserve to win. My choice is for you to win, your talent is the best this year and the best AGT has ever seen.

will dose Though your brother is 20 and just started speaking doesn't mean he can't accomplish things. His gift or talent may not yet have been found or recognized. EVERYONE has a gift, every single one of us. It may not be a gift like Kodi but a gift none the less. It can be a gift such as the ability to show love to everyone or bringing comfort or a smile to everyone. Be strong, love your brother, and let him know he is very special and can do anything.

He's not more talented than Glennis Grace, but his performances are the most astonishing of all I've seen on the show - ever. The fact that he can play the piano like that and sing like that despite his condition...it's mind boggling. He's just so good, he needs to win this!

Noticed a lot of young Elton John vocal similarity and Stevie Wonder persona in this bright kid. God bless you Kodi. Keep winning and not just hearts.

Kodi is amazing to be able to play the piano and sing like he does. He’s a natural and u can see he is singing from the heart. It’s wonderful his Mom and family supported him to get him to where he is now & AGT made this possible

Same. My son isn't blind but is very autistic and at 12 years old still in nappies and can't speak a word so I sort of understand his mom and what she has to deal with. Kodi is an angel 😇

This just goes to show that you can never judge anyone by the way they appear. And having an autistic challenged child myself, I give this mother , and family all the credit in the world. It's a tough road. God bless you all.
