I am not sure why they think they cannot have these two but they can have several others who are very similar in style who made it through. It should be based on talent, not genre. It is really unfortunate.

American Idol is so biased against country music girls. Both these girls are easily top 5 and they both deserve to go into the top 20 ahead of most of the others who already got in. American Idol is doing this because they don’t want two country music powerhouse talents, which is bullshit

This is terrible and makes no sense at all. they both deserve to be in the top 20 . there are about 6 others who made it who do not deserve to be there more than these 2. I hope the show reads these comments and sees how unpopular of a decision this was. its horrible

Yeah I agree that you shouldn't do it like this with 2 out of 40 other contestants. It brings more of the spotlight/coverage on them and makes no sense to me. Having said that....if everyone felt the same way about who they liked/didn't like, this would be a boring show. So you said that there are about 6 people who did not deserve to get in...what makes your opinion matter that much more than the next guy?

Yes I agree She is way better than Arthur Gunner...she is fun and a great singer..she is top 3 for sure...along with just Sam....I hope America thinks she is special

It's a competition. Good people are going to go home who could have won, unfortunately that's just how it goes! Either way they're both going places, but there are only 20 spots and they're trying to keep a variety of artist's and genres.

First, I haven’t seen the latest live show so I’m responding to this clip. They BOTH had great auditions relative to some other contestants; so from the get go why would the judges not leave two spots remaining?? Then the question becomes, why were they slotted last? Drama for the show???? Whoever doesn’t make it should definitely go to The Voice as Blake alone would pick both!! p.s. Laine Hardy was on a good season as he didn’t seem to have to deal with this nonsense. Then again, where do these people end up, even after AI (except Carrie)?

I love them both. I’m so torn, but I’ll go with Lauren because I have already listened to her album and the girl is talented songwriter.

Even is she doesn't make it she doesn't need the show, she is absolutely awesome.

Grace was way better as her vocal performance was flawless. Lauren has a star quality, though. So I choose both.

I already voted for Lauren!!! 10 times!! She is a Country star!

Lauren is the complete package. Great singer songwriter and plays instruments.

I can’t believe we need this choose between the two of them. The girl who sang Lady Marmalade honestly didn’t cut it for me. In fact, that performance was so cringy.

From Ireland and I love both these girls...they literally told one urs was one of the performances of the night so why is she even there in like a bottom 2 situation...they're both 28 as well isn't that the age limit..u could easily have removed one of the younger contestants who didn't perform as good and put both these girls through since it is their last chance to be on the show, and secondly they both deserve to go through

Idol has long been known from trying to be dominated by country singers which is bullshit because their arguably most successful alum and biggest moneymaker is Carrie Underwood. This is how Idol ends up with another mediocre winner

Have you seen the winners list...Country singers have a hugeee advantage whichever of these two makes it in can win the show regardless of the other talent because they will pull alll the country votes if they are compared to the other women lol. I don't like country music a whole lot but I do think both these women are super talented and I don't know why they can't just have one more in their top 20 and have a top 21 instead of putting so much pressure on these two beautiful women

Lauren and Grace are extremely talented young ladies, which the judges acknowledge! Unfortunately, I think what they decided last night was not only premeditated, but also about ratings, which was probably instigated by the producers. I mean come on, let's be honest, American Idol's ratings have not exactly been stellar, right? So what a "better way" to attract more attention thereby creating ridiculous drama between two amazing young ladies that we all know BOITH deserve to be in the top 20.... period....

Lauren did great, but she was in her comfort zone on that song. It didn't really showcase her singing range, which I would have liked to have heard of more. Fun song though. Grace's song did showcase her range and she sung it beautifully. For this reason I would vote for her. Lauren has her career gift wrapped for her already. She has the looks and voice to be very marketable. Grace needs this more.

I feel like if given the opportunity, Lauren would know more what to do with it, whereas Grace would be more like “mold me” or be more inclined to say yes to what the label wants.

Her first album was released when she was 7 years old. She had a 6 night gig at Branson, Missouri. She never needed Idol. She is on her way already.

I am not a country music fan, but when you talk about having "the whole package", Lauren is the poster girl! Great voice, great writer, unbelievably beautiful and so poised and comfortable on a stage. I picked her early to win the whole thing. Plus being Italian/American doesn't hurt one bit. Absolutely ridiculous and non-sense for the judges to place Mascitti and Neer on the block together!! The darn judges themselves openly admitted that Mascitti and Neer done very well and that a couple other contestants didn't. To top it off, the contestants themselves admitted that they believed they didn't do well and yet Mascitti and Neer are on the chopping block … Not fair and what a disgrace for that type of judging! A colossal mistake for the judges and certainly unfair for the two who did very well!! Time to remove those judges!!!!!

I wonder if this was a producer’s strategy to help Arthur push to the top...there are already a good number of country singers and the country vote is huge-people who favor country music will generally vote for a country singer no matter what....the fewer country singers the stronger chance for whichever country singer is there. Arthur is already a favorite and poised to win

Totally agree with some of these comments. Idol really blew it this year. The highschool kids were great but they could not hang with these 2 girls. This was a total mistake and puts a big damper on the show to have to vote one these 2 girls off before it gets started. Big Mistake

They didn't want too many singers from one genre so they allowed them to compete for this spot. THAT was a mistake as they are both polished, seasoned, and older singers who should have got their chance to compete for the title.
