How did katy perry get that far in her career without realizing that people can evolve their voices to higher notes? Thats not a real reason to deny someone

He cant sing. Hes not a singer. Totally out of key and all over the place. He couldnt hold a single note longer than 1 quick second, he has zero sense of key, no vocal control. Hes not a singer. and its straight up boring and monotonous. Extremely Monotonous. Hes literally just talking. There are so many amazing singers who sound great, work hard, and try hard, and then guys like this, who do absolutely no work and have no talent, because somebody told him "hey you should sing with that deep voice!" and then gets the spotlight, undeservingly. Katy is the only smart and realistic person there. Theyre looking for Amazing, Versatile, Professional singers. Not the kid who just sang for his granmdas birthday.

Katy Perry doesn’t have to be talented; she uses computers to fix her voice.
Luke has an amazing lower register. He was blowing me away with how easily he was hitting those lower notes in his range. With the right songs he can make an impact in the competition and gain a lotta fans.

It's so weird that Katy describes his bass singing as a "gimmick" as a bad thing. 1: A gimmick is precisely the thing that makes one stand out from the masses. 2. Many singers does the exact same with high notes. 3. This is an audition, not a voice reel.

Yeah, definitely not a gimmick. Rare talent. Maybe not on a technical level, but the talent is there. Katy is discriminatory against people with low voices, apparently. He can't be famous unless he's a baritone or tenor, apparently. Honestly, if he did his act right, he could take popular music in a different direction.

I dont know who she is but she does have that cliche pop music fan so she would probably hate this voice and the song he sings at first

This Kid would absolutely kill it as a voice actor, commercials, voiceovers, skys the limit
This young man has the greatest voice and such a nice personality, we just love him!

This kid is amazing. With a little coaching and not taking singing so seriously he will be a star. (Note: by not so seriously when she said have fun with it you could instantly see the excitement and upbeat switch he took)
This young man has the greatest voice and nicest personality, we just love him!
It’s very unusual for someone that young to have a deep voice like that.

He probably has abnormally thick vocal cords. They've inspected peoples vocal chords who sound like this and they're usually thicker.

They didn't even give him the chance to sing higher notes, and even if he struggles with it, as others have said he could be trained to go higher But even if he couldn't be trained higher, unique voices like that are the sort of thing that propels people to the top at light speed

Check out Marcel Tułacz from the Polish edition of The Voice Kids. 14-year-old kid sounds like a grown man, pretty amazing. It reminds me of Tavarius Polk and his mature vocal in the track with Aaliyah, he was also about that age when he sang it..
Even if they don’t think he’s a great fit for Idol, he will go far in other protects.

This is the sort of voice the US grew up on for Christmas songs
He could definitely be the next Burl Ives or Robert Goulet. And at the same time, he could do more than just Christmas music!
Tic Toc shanty & stair singing. He’s awesome.They had him on ‘I Can See Your Voice’ and they chose wrong for him. XD

Are you joking this is the best damn voice ive ever heared in a long time. Bro no joke hes dumpin on katy all day. Hes on another level. He doesnt need to dance with other dancers, he doesnt need special effects. Give him a mic and a classic song and his halls will fill in no time. Stop this downgrading, it seems a little toxic.
I really liked the solid constructive criticism from Katie and Luke took it like a true gentlemen, "Yes ma'am." Good audition. I want to hear charismas songs form him too, but there is also voiceovers, voice acting, audiobook reader etc. He could go far with a voice like that and this is his shot to get it out there. A 'Yes, Yes, No' vote sets his expectations while still giving him the chance to put himself in front of produsers and the constructive criticism gives him a concert goal he can set for himself to improve his odds of success. Well done all around. (Though I might have advised not interrupting the first song. It could have thrown him off, especially making him sing a song he doesn't know by heart and hasn't rehearsed.) [double points to Luke for this btw]

Luke is pure talent. Katy has a problem with natural pure talent. She had to work on hers. She has no idea what she's doing she thinks she needs to criticize and scrutinize but it's not necessary. This man is not a gimmick he has God given natural talent. It's interesting that they can't work with god-given natural talent

If this kid doesnt decide to sing he has so many opportunities with that voice. He can do commercials, voice acting all that jazz. He can be the allstate voice lol
What notes? He doesn't need more. I'm not a country guy, I grew up with Punk, but what notes does Perry provide? She only touches one genre. They should really change the name to Pop Idol... Doesn't seem to have anything to do with talent. Everyone has a range, in my band we have to tune up or down to what our singer can hit for our covers. There really should be more judges across a multitude of genres, otherwise this whole show makes no sense.
