Jason Smith - You do think, as I do, that Katy was playing? She changed, seems to me the day she was impersonating Ursula (the sea witch with octopus legs) and now can't shake the drama effect of that portrayal. I miss joking, happy-go-lucky Katy, now appears to be stuck in a serious mode. NOT saying anything to detract from Alejandro, he IS great...just my opinion that Katys' acting makes her uncharacteristically less true to herself. She hasn't shed a genuine tear since and if anyone else sees what I see I'm very interested in hearing it!

Almost everyone had stopped watching the show. I know I had because they just kept churning out the same karaoke singers every year and I wouldn't have spent a dime on even one of their songs. It wasn't until I saw the promo about the most amazing audition ever that I decided to watch this season. When Alejandro walked in, I noticed his shy, humble demeanor and how he didn't push a sad story and, of course, that impressed me; but when he strummed the first note on that damned guitar, I was hooked to the point that dimmed the light on the rest of my life and I searched social media looking for him and found Instagram that night. He had 2K followers at that time and now, he has 621K. That was 80 days ago. I've given up on being released from this beautiful, curly-haired, long-eyelashed wizard's spell and, instead, I've become his most ardent supporter and his biggest fan. It's the best job, I never had.

When he sang the first verse... That emotion in the song, indescribable.. I thought the audition was the best he did till now. He has bettered that. He deserves to be an American Idol (Which I believed right from the audition). Cause he is a complete musician, a person with his own unique style who has mastered two difficult instruments and can compose and write songs. What more do you need to be an American Idol. I've been amazed to find out that he has mastered several instruments, including the flute. You know how, on the surface, you think you know everything about someone and then more you pull back the layers you find out that there is so much more? That is Alejandro. We may never really know the depth of his talent until he has completed his Idol contract. @stevienicks could see it on day one and so could the judges. There's truly nobody like him.

Besides this beautifully sung rendition of this classic, anyone notice that he totally nailed it on piano? Every note, every little nuance from Elton’s original was perfect. And I bet he didn’t have to practice this piece. That’s how mind-blowing his talent is.
