While you're correct, if he was smart, he'd wait past the contractual agreement time before he does produce them professionally otherwise, American Idol get's a large portion of the proceeds. Then again, he may be wise to go ahead and do it right away, even though AI get's a large portion of those proceeds, it could be what gets his career off to a rocket start and then anything he does after that first EP of these 5 songs he did on AI will be big money. Grace Vanderwaal on AGT as an example with her first EP Perfectly Imperfect. AGT got a huge cut of those proceeds. Homie may feel like AI is what got him noticed, so they're entitled, and he's going to make plenty in the future now so why wait? Let's produce it now. It'll be interesting to see what or when he does it, but you know it's coming.

How crazy is it that we ALL know multiple original songs by a guy that was completely UNknown 2 months ago?.. THAT'S how special Alejandro Aranda truly is..

Although i enjoyed Wade alot, this guy was a genius before his audition. Should have won.

That major chord at the end is SO well placed, minor the whole song and then gives us a glimpse of optimism with that last chord, he’s more than just a musician, he’s a thinker

Y. M. Hylton Idol was merely a stepping stone for him. Any other country (US has too many country song fans), or universe he probably would’ve won the show. But he is such a winner anyway you look at it. I’ve not been this excited for music since I was 13.

People say this performance was phenomenal. Well, to me this is nothing compare what this incredibly talented man is showing during his concerts on his fall tour. Just like Lionel says, this is a phenomenon. He truly is UNBELIEVABLE. And yes, he stayed humble. His personality is as beautiful as is his music.

@bellaroja, I can understand your frustration. Keep in mind that he's been forced to cut short on every original song he has done in the show. Also not having enough time to do the best musical arrangements and you can tell sometimes by the look on his face. What what is most important is the fact that he has stayed true to his artistry, his essence hasn't change.

Lionel Richie is one of them Musical geniuses like Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder etc so He sees and hears the performance in a whole other level then Katey and Luke. Alejandro is playing and Lionel is listening to all the details. I do like Luke's honesty too saying repeatedly I am not worthy to judge You, meaning He doesnt have that gift to play instruments at that level, I like His honesty.

In my opinion he is the best idol contestant ever

What's amazing to me is the style of playing. In the jazz portion at the beginning and bridge he's playing the lead with his left hand and the right hand is playing the traditional left hand support. In the Chopin-like phase the right hand takes over lead and the left supports then he goes back to the jazz with a left hand lead. Truly unique shit right there. Absurd actually.

Those words in his song couldnt have been put together any better, searching for the broken pieces to my heart, to love again. So deeply meaningful those words, for those whom have been shattered to pieces or back stabbed and still do in any way they have been in this world of people.

He finished it up with a bang! The best performance in all 3 song categories. By far!

That pause before he says "for my soul to love again" at the end was so fucking perfect I felt it in my soul.

I didn’t watch American Idol, but saw clips of the winner. I saw a video of him, but ended up binge watching Alejandro’s performances instead. I would buy Alejandro’s music.

This was the Best night anyone has ever had on AI ever! All 3 Performances were Amazing! And to finish the night with this, was a Wrap!! He will be a Star! Viva Alejandro! Lets go Pomona!!

How many more hidden talents does this young man have? He is awesome. I am 74 yrs. old & watch these shows. I love music & song. This talented young man is.beyond all others in talent to be a newcomer in this show. From the very first audition until now, May 15, 2017 he's had us the world audience mesmerized. His future is written in the stars. God bless him.

i feel like he doesnt get enough credit , i dont think ppl rly understand how impossible , literally impossible it is to do what hes doin with the piano , the depth of his lyrics , and his voice all in one. This has to be the best performance to ever have touched that stage... wow

His songs speak to me so much , heartbreak is the most painful thing I have ever gone through , but he transcends that pain into something beautiful ugh ❤️

Such great piano playing. That ending was incredible. Brought down to a slow meaningful ending. The final lyrics, sang so deeply....wow.

He really is so creative, so unrestricted and so blessed with talent.
