Seeing someone die infront of your eyes can scar you for life, seeing your parent die infront of your eyes is EVEN worse, but seeing your parent be murdered....this is a pain so horrific that no words can describe your pain. People who see loving parents (who lived a good and full life that died naturally from old age) die will often mourn for years, but what she has witnessed and to be able to rise up once more, that is power and courage to be respected.

They can't guarantee the rest of the world will be kind to you. God granted us life, but also free will. It's OUR responsibility to take control of OUR actions, NOT our parent's nor God's. Heaven is a Paradise, a place WITHOUT suffering and pain, and you want to tell this girl that her parents don't deserve to know that place? That instead they should have been left to suffer? God didn't kill her parents, a human did. Someone who's actions are THEIR OWN, not God's. Taking them to heaven is a mercy, but I guess you'd rather they stay possibly permanently damaged from their wounds. Jesus, I'm literally not even Christian and yet I can understand the faith better than some people.

When she started singing, I started crying, because this is exactly what I'd sing to my mom. My mom sadly lost the battle to cervical cancer on 9-23-2021, so yesterday at 8:00 in the morning, and now it's 12:19 a.m., 9-24-2021. Hasn't even been 24 hours and I wasn't crying a lot until this girl started singing. I broke right then and there. :(

Definitely talented, but compared to other singers on here, nothing exceptional. The judges have let their feelings get in the way a LOT and put through a lot of people who have sad backstories mainly for that reason. Don't get me wrong, what happened to her and her parents is horrible, but people can't and shouldn't get through just because of their past.

@@jessicamacaulay7462 she was the best audition from the season and you said people shouldn’t make cause their story well damn Archie Williams made it a little to far he wasn’t that good of a singer and he mumbled too much she hit the right notes and delivered an amazing performance she was personally my favorite and no ones gonna change my mind about that also let’s talk about Brooke Simpson like I know she got to the top 4 but her and Dustin were the best of the season I was really bummed when she came in 4th I wish she would have won

@@liamschuh4166 Ok. Not sure why you brought up Archie Kelly, I didn't say anything about making exceptions. No one should make it through because of their past, period. This isn't some kind of "gotcha" moment, what the judges do and what they should do are two different things lol

Lost my uncle 11 years, He was gang related and got jumped along with his friend by a gas station. We saw his body with cuts and gunshots.

I understand to I lost mine at 3 and 13 after raising my brother's then taken again because of race then ended up being sold from 10-17 but still trying to love my brother's I stayed strong for them inshallah one day I will see them again I'm 22 have a baby girl I'm a social worker and I help other girls and males like myself and I finally got custody of my daughter and trying to stay clean off of drugs been 3 months clean stay strong everyone just know your worth it :)

I was waiting for someone to hit the golden buzzer for her cuz she sang knowing that her parents are up there being so incredibly proud of her. that she came to AGT and sang her absolute heart out. The fact that after her parents was killed in front of her, she still managed to stay strong for her siblings and that is something that is truly incredibly and unbelievable. Amazing job Jayy! Your parents are so proud of you for following your dreams!

It took a lot of courage to not only sing and bare her soul on stage like that but to tell the story of what happened. She was blessed with such a beautiful voice and for once I can honestly say I hope she does well and goes far.

It is SO HARD to sing whilst fighting back tears. She did a phenomenal job. And this is not her "sob story" - how dismissive!! This is her reality. This is her life. I'm rooting for her. 💖

Can you say STRENGTH? That’s what this young woman embodies, along with wisdom and determination. I absolutely feel horrible for what she went through. But for her to come through it all like a butterfly. She’s amazing

I dislike it because she used a sob story to get through. Or AGT used the sob story for ratings. Sing first. Vote. Then tell your sob story. Base it on talent. Not a sob story. If you noticed Simon NEVER critiqued her voice. Just said she was an amazing person. It’s not an amazing person contest

@@tkkcali she’s a girl with talent. She had a dream and despite what she’s been through she still fought for it. It’s not just a sob story. it’s her life! It’s what she has to live with everyday. And they asked her about it. Either way she had a beautiful performance I can’t even begin to imagine how hard it would be to sing with all that emotion. She made it beautiful though.
