As a singer myself, it is completely irresponsible of the judges and vocal coaches to force a voice that is obviously temporarily damaged and strained. They could have damaged his voice for the long haul; especially if they knew his capabilities for a 30 second solo. Just.... wow.

Yeah, I had to fast forward through that. No self respecting "vocal coach" would EVER say "if you don't sing, that means you're giving up". She should have her career trashed for that alone. Absolutely $hitty woman. I get bronchitis every year around the same exact time and there's been a few times I thought I was going to have to cancel leading music for youth events. I can say, Kenalog shots are FREAKING AMAZING!!! I wouldn't normally say vocal steroids should be taken regularly but, in a pinch, it helps so much. It takes about a day for them to really do their job, though. I've had to do it 4 times and my doctor knew my background so it wasn't a huge deal. It takes your voice back to near where it would be if you weren't sick.

Why were they forcing that guy to sing even though he was clearly incapable of performing at his fullest? Katy said “I don’t think that’s fair” but it’s not fair to strain somebody’s damaged voice and judge him on the same level as everybody else.

nate’s vocal coach makes me extremely upset. she’s really rude, telling him he HAS to sing and he has no other choice despite the fact 1. he has a serious health issue and 2. no one’s forcing him. she showed zero remorse except for an emotionless, not at all genuine “i’m sorry”. not to mention her decision to tell the judges that he didn’t sing as much as he was supposed to. if she had have just shut her mouth everything would have been better

Me also having Epilepsy not only applaud them for not showing her have a seizure,but also her coming back after having a seizure. I quit a job after having a seizure in front of my coworkers. Seizures are no joke.

She has vasovagal syncope, vasovagal to do with blood flow and the vagus nerve which causes sudden decrease in heart rate, and syncope meaning like a faint. So she collapses due to this. And she has seizures with it

Noticed the people running these shows were more concerned about their ratings than the actual person. That one guy Nate that was ridiculous having him sing and possibly ruin his vocal cords with scarring from singing when his voice should be resting. The woman saying he was a quitter is an ass. Then Lionel Richie attacking verbally this woman to the point she passes out hits the floor. It's not worth being on a show that doesn't care about a person's well being.

Stress can also be a factor with dehydration causing high blood pressure. It can also cause her to get dizzy and faint. I've had it happen. When someone is acting like that she was rubbing her forehead that was the beginning of stress and then passing out. I bet if they checked all her medical records her blood pressure was up.

As a nurse, this made me scream at the screen to grab her when she started trying to walk stage. Also, they need to make sure they are hydrated, and checked before going on stage. Blood pressure, and all preexisting conditions noted. Best thing is to offer juice and/or Gatorade .

All of these people who are trying to enter show business need to be aware that they are entering something cruel and unforgiving. The showbiz motto is that the show must go on no matter what. We've seen celebrities die and their bosses still throw the party, have the award show and, if possible, go on with a concert with whoever is still alive. You can cancel sometimes, but for the most part, performers are expected to perform.

In reference to the skater who flipped off the stage - Life-saving tip: if you EVER see someone fall, hit their head/neck, and their arms immediately go stiff like that skater, DON’T MOVE THEM, AND CALL FOR HELP! Its Decerberate posturing when the limbs stiffen outward, that's likely just a concussion; however, if the arms flex inward that's decorberate posturing and is a sign of significant brain trauma. Don't move the person without a neck collar in either situation.

while I overall agree with the advice here, remember that it's no use protecting their spine if they're dead! Check if they're breathing while keeping them still, but if they're not, you have to move them to get them breathing again! Ideally you just tilt their head back but do NOT move it sideways & hopefully that will clear their airway & have them breathe, but if not, you're going to have to get them onto their back for CPR. Don't not do CPR to save their spine! & obviously call for help for anyone who's unconscious (possible exception for epilepsy if they're a known epileptic & come around within 5 minutes & tell you not to)

It took 4 yrs of babying, resting, and relearning how to sing to get back to how I sang before the accident. It's no joke, your voice is a delicate instrument.

They weren't attacking her, it's called constructive criticism and sometimes they have to tell them the problem so they can work at making themselves better. There's so many overly sensitive people in this world, it honestly baffles me how they get through daily life sometimes!

The two first ladies were doing ok infill the judge start talking about train wreck, and the fact she was gonna faint was clear when started to fall and stop fall and stop. He could have said it nicer though

I feel these. Several months ago my teacher fell in the middle of class and started having a seizure. I didn’t actually see her fall but I walked in on her shaking with her eyes rolled in the back of her head. It was very traumatizing. I still remember one of my favorite teachers coming in the next day with a black eye from her fall and telling us sorry for scaring us. She was diagnosed with epilepsy and told us that if she ever dropped down again to do exactly what we did before. Thanks for reading my story. Have a great day and a great life.

@@ReadyorNot811 you do nothing, don't try to hold their heads, don't try to put things in their mouths... just clear the space around so that they hit themselves as little as posible, sometimes the movements come very strong and you won't be able to stop them from hitting something and also from hitting you, so you should just give them space and wait for it to finish

A teacher, my biology teacher once lost consciousness in the middle of the class. Friends of mine ran to see the school nurse who called paramedics. It was just a vagal thing thank god

Felt really bad seeing so many talented folks being hurt while on their way to the top... May they reach the heights their talent deserves... 👍👍👍

Those dancers were absolutely AMAZING!!! As a dancer myself I can feel for Luis and how scary it is to injure yourself DURING a very important performance and have to continue either by yourself or let the show go on without you. I had an ankle injury during a ballet performance and in order to get taken care of I had to semi-walk across the stage with a smile on my face, swallowing the pain cause I didn’t want to fuck the choreo up…fortunately it wasn’t that serious but it was scary as hell. I cried my soul out when the curtains came down.

Smh. That vocal coach is something else. She should have been the first to understand Nate's situation. Even people who do this for a living do not go out and perform when they have a problem like Nate had. She pushed the issue. Proud of Nate...he rose above it like a champ.

Bruh, Nate’s voice was fucking dying and they couldn’t have gone a little easier on the poor kid?

Y’all saying they were hard on him but that is the nature of the business. Artists always sing even if they are sick. If he wants to do this for a living, he will have to perform bring sick.

My favorite was the roller blader who decided nothing impresses the judges more then taking a dive off the stage on to the concrete floor. That's talent.

they thought nate was just sick? sick is just coughing, feeling chilly or nauseous, he had an entire emergency and went to the HOSPITAL. plus they shouldn’t have pushed him

I felt bad for poor Nate. I remember their performance. Those judges pushed him too far. They should have never insisted he sang.

@@brockbrowning1704 But it's not fair to possibly damage somebodies voice in the long run. It could've ruined his entire career. Thankfully it didn't.

Making Nate sing with his voice like that is like asking a juggler to juggle with a broken hand. Also making him sing again meant he sang longer then the others.

The adults in the situation should've realized he was in no condition to sing The stunt they pulled could have caused permanent damage to his vocal cords

Can we acknowledge Luke in the first clip not only did him and Lionel run to see if she was ok but luke sat there with her and held the paper towel on her chin 🥺🥺❤️

The 3rd guy got treated very poorly, the staff literally waited for a few seconds know he already fall and no matter what fall is that they should still act as it might be the head that hit the ground first.

Fainting is the mild part... injuring yourself after fainting is the worry.

I wonder if the lady in the first act messed up her lines because she couldn't concentrate due to dehydration. As someone who has been severely dehydrated, I can say it can give you an almost " out of body" feeling.

How can those professional singers be OK asking a clearly damaged and strained singer to sing like that? If they were touring and sounded like that there would be no way they would be going on. I'm glad nate made it through after all that and I hope he didn't sustain any lasting damage.

Whatever happened to the guy who tried unsuccessfully to jump over the folding chairs? Hope he is ok!

Ivan got medical attention but was deemed ok! He knocked himself out real hard and got a concussion I'm sure. He missed the make-up time for auditions so unfortunately he couldn't come back that season.

It wasn’t his fault the trampoline was to close to the chairs so when he hit the trampoline for the jump the first chair was already falling. I really hope he’s ok

They are ALL awful for Nate it’s his voice not a foot ache 🤕 but he still had an amazing voice 💕

I have vasovagal syncope too (POTS) and it is probably the most embarrassing thing ever. You feel really really bad really fast and then you’re fine. It’s awful. I feel bad for her.

I don't have the same condition as Makayla. Stress cause me to have seizures as well. I actually have epilepsy. It's a hard thing to deal with so I know how she feels. Most don't get to live a normal life because of it, I haven't.

@@tadhggoreyoneill13666 They must have grand mal seizures. I have partial seizures. There are different types of seizures. Which occur due to what area of the brain is temporarily shutting down. Seizures are similar to a stroke. I saw my grandmother have one. So the symptoms are rather similar. But the neurological side effects of a stroke are more severe than a seizure. A lot of people die when they have one. Yet they loose consciousness and shake as if they are having a seizure.

My dog suffers from seizures/epilepsy. The vets told me to put him down. That made me cry because he only gets them once every two or three months, but he'll have at least 20 within a 24 hour period. He's on phenobarbital. After two days of recovering he's back to normal. Even after having surgery to remove the spoon he swallowed.

I know the participants take a risk taking part on this shows, what surprised me was the judges like Katy Perry meanness, Lionel Richie and Simon Cowell. Shame on them. Will never watch those shows again.

5:09 : "I don't handle stress well." Me, watching this in a medical emergencies compilation: "Oh I bet you don't." Me a few minutes later: "O shit it's a medical condition that's not funny at all."

I love how each time, Luke Bryan just wanted to help and be there to support the individual who was in distress. He truly is a kind-hearted man.

Poor girl in the first clip! You could tell that even while singing, she was dizzy/on the verge of fainting.

for the first one, I wasn't ready at all and I just screamed from the utter fear and heart-sinking-noise-echoing thud from the drop.

Luke and Lionel have been parents for years so for them this is second nature. It’s new to Katy and it’s the sweetest thing watching them all react differently.

Incredible seeing people that live out of their voice, making someone crack even more his voice, and most probably hurting his vocal cords to a point that could be irreversible.

The nate dude part though. You can't force someone to sing when they're sick! It can cause the sickness to be more worst and the pain is unbearable. I love singing and even if I had a sore throat I would sing but it kills me. It hurts my whole neck the whole day. Even if it's for the " fairness " I don't think forcing them to sing was necessary!

Makayla Brownlee was amazing! It was so great to see her come back and absolutely kill it.

Forcing that kid Nate to sing when his voice wasn't up to par, what were they trying to do destroy it? I may not know a lot but I'm pretty sure that singing when you can't will damage your voice. What they did to him was absolutely disgusting.

The lack of medical attention in all of these is appalling!!

the firefighters singing was one of the most wholesome things I've ever seen.

The group of 4 dancers wad amazing. Like the foot work combined with the fact the girls were wearing heels! And stilettos at that! I can't even walk in those!
